With “Dylan”, I wanted to explore a sense of quiet gravity and intense presence. The composition centers on a bold portrait featuring a strong beard and a clean silhouette, with the subject’s sideways gaze suggesting deep, inner calculation. I surrounded the figure with dynamic bursts of fiery red and deep, dark tones that cut through the background. By utilizing the unique, smooth surface of the aluminum panel, I was able to interplay heavy, raw textures with precise lighting on the skin to capture a powerful moment of modern masculinity and raw emotion.
