With “Dannika”, I wanted to explore a sense of deep, analytical contemplation and quiet vulnerability. The composition focuses on a framed gaze through glasses, with the subject’s face gently cradled by their hands, creating an immediate feeling of focus and interior life. I balanced the rich, dark tones of the upper portrait with expressive, raw paint drips trailing down the bottom of the wood panel. By merging these fluid, abstract elements with precise figurative details, I aimed to capture the multi-layered nature of thought and identity.
